This splendid coffee comes from the natural and wild forest of the Bale Mountains situated in the southeast of Ethiopia. Its vast and majestic plateau, over 2400 meters above sea level, is one of the few ecosystems in existence that supports the genetic diversity of the Arabica coffee species. In this stupendous mountain landscape, among verdant woods, hanging flora, and flowing river valleys, between about 1,400 to 1,800 meters above sea level, the ripe berries are picked by hand from the plants that grow spontaneously in the shade of the Harenna forest canopy and then dried in the sun.The result is a truly unique coffee originating from the characteristically long and fat beans that transform into a dense and creamy espresso. The sensations on the palate are many and intense: an initial note of caramel emanates throughout the fragrance of juniper berries and mountain shrubs, and dissolves in a long and persistent echo of honey and wild cherries.
